PLEASE DONATE

Based on our collective experience as sanctuary directors, calculating the maintenance costs of healthy, pre-tested, pre-vaccinated, spayed/neutered Preserve Pigs is not a guess, but a matter of record.
Lifetime funding for the miniature pigs, after the initial health expenses, will average $500-$600 per pig...based on an expected average residency at the Preserve of 10 years. The cost for farm pigs will be several hundred dollars higher due simply to their larger appetites and increased doses for medicines, parasite medications, etc....
Each pig coming to The Preserve will be sponsored. The sponsorship fee will be prepaid before the pig enters the Preserve. By establishing Certificates of Deposits (CD's) with the sponsorship funds, a reserve of funds will begin to grow and earn interest. These dedicated funds for The Preserve pigs will assure them of food, medical care and bedding for the remainder of their lifetime.

Click on the picture to make a monthly donation of $150It is our hope that, as it grows, the fund for The Preserve Pigs will reach the point where it will support the rescue of the occasional pig who do not have sponsors.
If a pig dies before his/her fund is exhausted, the balance will be applied to the general fund to support any pigs who are awaiting sponsorship for The Preserve but who, as yet, have no sponsors.
All other costs associated with the operation and maintenance of The Preserve will be the responsibility of the owners of The Preserve
When a sponsor provides sponsorship for a pig, the donated funds can be easily and accurately tracked from the date of donation through the entire life of the pig and an accurate accounting provided to the sponsor.
Since the land on which The Preserve is located is privately owned, and the equipment with which to build and operate The Preserve is already in place, The Preserve will not be faced with many of the initial and frequently overwhelming costs facing most new sanctuaries. This will allow funds raised through donations, contributions and grants (those not earmarked for the sponsorship of pigs) to be applied directly to the construction of fencing and housing for Preserve pigs.
Sponsorship funds...those funds donated and earmarked for support of the pigs...will not be spent on the building or maintenance of The Preserve facility.
It is simply another innovative concept designed to guarantee the health and safety of the pigs, make life easier for The Preserve directors and assure donors and sponsors that money given to support the pigs is, in fact, going to be spent totally on the pigs. Sponsors now have the security of knowing that none of their sponsorship money will be going to support the operational overhead of The Preserve. Donations...either to The Preserve itself or sponsorship funds for the pigs...will be fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by existing IRS regulations for non-profit organizations.

Your website looks fabulous and from my conversations with Richard & Gail your organization sounds "first class". Thank God for you and your kindness to our special pig friends.
Thanks, Carol.
I am going to update the website shortly and will publish some photos and stories of some newly rescued pigs. Look for it in a week or so.
We continue to look for donors and grants to help us continue to build and operate The Preserve. We are also on a quest to find some additional dedicated members for the board of directors.

Hello! I am anxiously awaiting news and pictures of the wonderful Phil. I know his transition was difficult and it has been very hard for me, too. I just wanted the best for Phil and pray that I made the best decision for him. I really want to do right by him and was struggling over my decision when I heard he was having a tough time. I am hoping that he has settled in and that the warmer weather is helping as well. Again, I can't think you enough for all that you do and especially for the love and care of Phil. Amy Johnston
